Āwhina is an experienced primary and secondary teacher and tutors part-time at Te Wānanga o Raukawa. She has been involved in NCEA since its inception, developing standards for Te Reo Māori, Te Reo Rangatira, Hauora and Hangarau Matihiko and is an accredited professional learning and development facilitator.

Ko tāna, he torotoro i ōna ringa ki ētahi kaupapa e tutuki ai ēnei wawata. Te Aorangi’s overall endeavour is to make a positive impact in the revitalisation of the Māori Language and the development of the Māori economy.

Beth is an experienced primary teacher and taught in English and Māori-medium settings. She is also an accredited English-medium and Māori-medium professional learning and development facilitator and has facilitated professional development in Te Poutama Tau, Te Whakapiki i te Reo and Marau-ā-Kura.

Shyree is responsible for keeping our online environment up to date and functioning well – that includes the Ako Panuku website, and our online communications (e-pānui, social media).
Anja Woltmann

Anja joined the Haemata team in October 2019 and has a background in office management and administration as well as hospitality, having worked for the commercial arm of the local iwi in Whakatāne and tourism-related front desk work. She supports the team in the smooth running and organisation of ongoing and upcoming projects.
Nadine Malcolm

Nadine has 12 years primary and middle school teaching experience in English medium schools and 5 years experience as a Specialist Curriculum Leader of Languages. She has a particular passion for teaching te reo Māori and supporting teachers in their programme planning and teaching of te reo Māori. Nadine is particularly interested and passionate about using second language acquisition theories to inform best practice of teaching te reo Māori to enhance the learning experience for all ākonga.
Tuihana Walker

Tuihana leads Ako Panuku's communications. She has worked with a diverse range of clients from iwi and community organisations to large corporations, delivering impactful communications and integrated campaigns, highlighting her talent in storytelling, content creation, and inclusive public relations. She is currently studying PRINZ APR and an MMS in PR.
Tangihaere Fox

Tangihaere provides administration support to the Ako Panuku project. She brings a wealth of skills in project coordination and administration, having previously worked at Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi as a Programme Administrator. She provides support to the day-to-day operations of Ako Panuku.
